Waterworld is the story of a really cool guy who is attractive to women, played by Kevin Costner that starts out as a loner doing very well to survive in a world that is stacked against him. Eventually, he begrudgingly decides to use his awesome skills to help others around him. The issues I have with this movie are honestly in the "technically and actually" category. If you analyze how the world they built functions, some things don't add up, and that can be a problem since it was marketed as being a possible future that could really be, and due to certain details, it couldn't. Although, if you put that out of your head and view it more as a fantasy piece, it kind of works. The professional critic community and certain online reviewer personalities have made sport of roasting Waterworld, and it gained a reputation as being far worse than it is. Is it a good movie then? Well, not exactly, but it is nowhere near as colossally awful as you may think. There are some really good action sequences and stunts. Dennis Hopper reprises his role as King Koopa from the Super Mario Bros movie and delivers yet again. It is a very action filled fantasy adventure movie. It is corny, but hardly the epitome of bad movies it was made out to be.
